HALF PRICE MICROCHIPS
For the month of November we are offering 50% off the cost of microchipping your pet. Microchipping offers pet owners the only truly permanent method of identifying your pet and linking the animal back to you. If you want to improve your pet’s chances of getting home, microchipping is your best option. A microchip is a tiny computer chip (about the size of a grain of rice) which has a unique identification number programmed into it. The microchip is simply injected under the skin of your pet, usually in the ‘scruff’ or skin at the back of the neck. The unique number is registered with a database that holds information such as your contact phone number and address along with your pet’s name, breed and age. A special scanner possessed by veterinary surgeons, local authorities and animal welfare organisations can detect the microchip when the lost pet is brought to them. The pet’s owner can then be contacted and be reunited with their pet.

Pet Weight Loss Clinics
The latest addition to our nurse clinics are Free Pet Weight Loss Clinics. Obesity in the pet population is quite literally growing and it is estimated that in Western Europe up to 45% of pets are overweight and up to 30% are obese. Therefore the nurses here at the Animal Care Hospital felt that it was crucial to address this problem by introducing free weight loss clinics. At these individual appointments one of our trained nurses prepares a weight loss programme for the pet based on it’s individual needs. They will recommend a special diet and daily food intake taking into consideration your pet’s age, breed and health. Then they arrange fortnightly visits to monitor your pets progress and assist you with any difficulties your may be experiencing. The clinics have been hugely successful so far and we hope to help many more pets to slim their way to a healthier and happier life!
